YouTube Downloader

October 5th, 2009 - We now have a Dailymotion Video Downloader if you want to try it out. The design work is new and it;s a test of what will be coming over here shortly I hope.

July 25th, 2009 - Slight problem with the script. Fixed now. Sorry for the trouble. While I do use the script myself, it;s easier when someone drops me a note to let me know there's an issue. :)

June 16th, 2009 - The HD download is now working. The video in question *MUST* have the HD logo displayed at the bottom right of the video for it to work. If there is no HD logo, no HD video is available and, therefore, the download will kick out an error. Please be aware that the downloaded file will probably be huge. I've gone ahead and changed the example to one where the HD is available. It is over 24 megs in size.

June 14th, 2009 - Fixed yet again. Not sure how long it'll last this time around. The HD downloader is still having issues though and works on a case by case basis.

The YouTube downloader works again and, while I had a few minutes, I've made some changes. In addition to downloading YouTube video as an *.flv file, you can now download YouTube video files as an *.mp4 file and as an *.mp4 (HD) file if it's available. There is no longer a need to rename the file before saving it as the file extensions are now correct.

Unfortunately, I've had to made a change or two to the layout of the site. While I would rather have the YouTube downloader on a single page with all of the available links available, not all YouTube videos are available as an *.mp4, that was a bit too much for my coding experience. I've gone ahead and made additional pages for all of the different file types. I'll clean up the site and rewrite the instructions in a day or two when I have the time.
